Our Story

The Franklin-Vance-Warren Head Start program, like others across the United States, is part of the broader Head Start initiative established by the federal government in 1965. Head Start was created to promote school readiness for children from low-income families by offering educational, nutritional, health, social, and other services. Early Head Start, which serves infants, toddlers, and pregnant women, was added to the program in 1994 to address the needs of younger children and their families.
